Acequia Madre Press was established in 1984 with the publication of our first guide book, Hiking Trails of the Sandia and Manzano Mountains. We then went on to publish a long line of hiking, backpacking, and cross-country skiing books that included historical and management information as well. In 1986 we published a children’s book, I’m Glad You Asked, and have now embarked on a more general release of memoirs, essays, and environmental justice books.
